A "Catch 22 situation" is one in which: no matter which way you go, there is an undesired result or outcome. A perfect example, would be that you need experience to get a job, and to get experience you need a job. So, where do we find that expereince?

You could add that the phrase comes from Joseph Heller's novel "Catch 22"
